Single-leg lanyards connect a worker to one anchor point at a time. Double leg lanyards have two legs so workers can maintain 100% tie-off when moving between anchor points, one leg stays connected while the other moves to the next anchor. Double leg lanyards are required when continuous fall protection is needed during transitions.

Vertical lifeline assemblies are used when workers climb ladders, scaffolds, or other vertical structures where a fixed-length lanyard would restrict movement. The rope grab allows continuous vertical travel while providing instant fall arrest if a fall occurs. Use vertical lifelines when fall hazards exist during climbing.

Shock-absorbing lanyards contain an internal shock absorber that deploys during fall arrest to limit forces on the worker's body. Malta Dynamics lanyards limit average arresting force to 900 lbs. or less, well below the OSHA maximum of 1,800 lbs. for a personal fall arrest system. The shock pack tears in a controlled manner to absorb energy.

OSHA and ANSI require connectors to have a minimum gate strength of 3,600 lbs. in all directions. Malta Dynamics carabiners meet this requirement with gates rated to 3,600 lbs. and overall tensile strength of 5,000 lbs. This ensures the connector remains secure even if loaded at an angle.

Adjustable restraint lanyards are designed specifically for fall restraint where the lanyard prevents the worker from reaching a fall hazard rather than arresting a fall.
